Meet Dr. Brian Szabo
Dr. Szabo opened his practice in Hermitage, PA on July 1st, 1986. Dr.Szabo is a life long resident of Hermitage. He graduated from Hickory Hight School. He went on to graduate from Gannon University and then obtained his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Upon graduation he completed a surgical residency in Youngstown, Ohio.
Dr. Szabo is board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and a wound specialist. He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He has surgical privileges at Sharon Regional Health System, UPMC Horizon and Edgewood Surgical Center.
Dr. Szabo is a board-certified surgeon trained in traditional Open Foot Surgery. He also performs Minimally Invasive Foot Surgery, which utilizes new and advanced instrumentation and technique where corrections are made using multiple tiny incisions which may have benefits such as smaller incisions, faster recovery time, reduced pain and scarring, less risk and reduced blood loss. From bunions to hammertoes, spurs to plantar fasciotomies, tendon lengthening, callouses to corns, MIS may involve endoscopy, percutaneous keyhole or multiple tiny incisions that may be closed with a stitch, steri-strip or glue. In some instances, such procedures can be performed in Dr. Szabo's office surgical suite or through out-patient surgery.
